Abstract

The background of the research was the poor performance of the elementary school headmasters so that their main tasks and functions had not been fulfilled yet. It was researched based on elementary schools teachers’ perceptions in Padang Panjang. The purpose of this research was to find out the influence of schools headmasters’ managerial supervision and working motivations towards their performance. The results of the research found that: (1) the schools Headmasters’ managerial supervisions had positive and significant influence  towards their  professionalism,   namely 17.70 %;  (2) their working motivations had positive and significant influence on  their  professionalism  namely 14.40%; and  (3) their managerial supervision (X1) and working motivation (X2) had positive and significant influences towards  the Headmasters’ performances,   namely 39.50%.

Abstract

The problem in this research was students motivation in Islamic education in high school 1 Salimpaung is well. Researcher suppose that this condition process. The purpose of this research was to know the correlation of reward toward student motivation, punishment toward students motivation and the correlation both of reward and punishment toward students motivation. This research is quantitative research that applied correlation method. The population in this research were all of the students in high school 1 Salimpaung in 2016/2017. It was consists of 417 students. While, the sample was only 81 students that was taken by using proportional stratified random sampling technique. The variable data X1, X2, and Y collected by using questioner with liker scale. The first and second hypothesis tested by using simple regression technique. While the third hypothesis tested by using double regression. The result of this research indicate that the correlation of reward toward students motivation was 0,1%, then correlation of punishment toward students motivation was 10,3%. While the correlation both reward and punishment toward students motivation was 10,4%.

Abstract

The problem of this research was that the English instructional management at SMAN 3 Batusangkar has unrevealed yet. The purpose of this research was to describe the English instructional management at SMAN 3 Batusangkar. The researcher used case study of qualitative research. In analyzing the data, researcher used Miles and Huberman steps, they are data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. In checking data trustworthyness, the researcher used data triangualtion technique. Based on the result of this study, it can be concluded that concluded that English instructional management at SMAN 3 Batusangkar is in compliance as mandated in the regulation. It can be seen through intracurricular aspects,  such as  in planning, using method, conducting learning activities, and doing evaluation, and at extracurricular aspects,  such as motivating student, rebuilding emotional relationship, practicing English, and channeling the students’ English talent, in spite of  weaknesses  in implementing innovative learning methodologies by the teachers.

Abstract

This study was aimed at finding out the role of managerial competence of the Principal of State Junior High School 1 Batipuh in improving the school’s quality as mandated in Minister’s Rule of National Education No. 13/2007. This study was categorized as case study of qualitative research. The sources of the data were the principal, teachers, and school employees. The data collection technique used in this research were observation, interview, and documentary study. To ensure the validity of this research, author used data triangulation of source, methods and time. The technique of data analysis was interactive model as stated by Miles and Huberman. This study showed that the role of the Principal's managerial competencies at in improving the quality of the school has been working very well, so that it brings the significant impact on the changing of  the quality of the school. As the top leader in this school, he is able to perform his functions and roles. As a manager, he is able to influence and manage the school in order to give changes to the school as guided by Peraturan Menteri Pendidikan Nasional no. 3 tahun 2007, about the standard of the Principal of school/Madrasah, in which one of the competencies that must be mastered is managerial competence. The role of managerial competence of the Head Master of the school  in improving the School quality, namely in designing school plan by creating cooperative relationship with the stakeholders of the school, namely  the school teachers, school staffs, school committees, parents and the community. Moreover, he leaded the school by giving encouragement or motivation to the people in that school. He created conducive culture and comfortable situation for students in learning process, developed the curriculum, and provided services to develop the learners. Those things were closely linked with the role of the Principal to manage the facilities and infrastructures of the school, school finance, and to utilize advancees in technology and to establish a relationship with the community, as well as to monitor and to evaluate the quality of the school.

Abstract

So far, various performance measurements have been done by IAIN Batusangkar, for example,  through Annual Working Report, which illustrates the achievement of targets that have been planned. The development of one of the performance measurements that focuses on measuring the performance of non-financial IAIN is from the consumer view-point namely the students and alumni. It is expected to be able to provide comprehensive improvement on the satisfaction of students and alumni on the quality of service that has been given IAIN, good quality of administration services, quality of service teaching and learning process and all academic processes that have been experienced. This research is a field research i.e.,  descriptive quantitative, that is explaining satisfaction and loyalty of the  students and alumni to the quality of academic and administrative services in the transition period  from State College for Islamic Studies (STAIN) to become State Institute for  Islamic Studies (IAIN) Batusangkar. Based on the calculation of the students' and the alumni's satisfaction, it was found that the obtained total satisfaction was 67.96%, and 76.84%. It means that the consumers' satisfaction (in this case students' and alumni's) on the performance of IAIN Batusangkar has not satisfactory.

Abstract

This paper contributes a lot to the establishment of education in student learning, especially in improving students' active thinking ability. This is due to the lack of qualified sources of educators and hali is focused on educators, because the ability to manage the class become one of the characteristics of a professional teacher. Professional teachers not only have the ability to manage the class well but also skilled in organizing learners to always play an active role and able to improve achievement in learning. The main task of the teacher is to create an atmosphere in the classroom so that the interaction of teaching and learning can motivate the students to learn well and earnestly. For this reason the teacher should have the ability to do good teaching and learning interactions. One capability that is very important is the ability to manage classes. Teachers with all their abilities, students with all backgrounds and individual traits, curriculum with all its components, and materials and learning resources with all its subjects meet and chime and interact in the classroom. In fact, activities that occur in the classroom determine the outcome of an education and learning. Therefore, good classroom management is needed, effective and efficient for teaching and learning activities to run well and educational objectives can be achieved.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the extracurricular management and its contribution to the students' intelligence in Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri of Sawahlunto. The method used in this research is field research with qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection techniques used are by observation, interview and documentation. The results showed that extracurricular activities contribute to the formation of the characters and intelligence of the students in MTsN Sawahlunto, in which every extracurricular activity gives positive effect to the students. The students are able to show the good characters in everyday social process both at school and community.
